Folliculitis – This is a bacterial infection that conjures our scalp initiating in our hair follicles. Folliculitis may occur if you have spent lots of time in hot water both or faced similar exposure to hairs. The bacteria causing this skin disorder is named Pseudomonas aeruginosa.

Frunucles- also medically termed as carbuncles, this is a skin infection where the patient gets boils on the skin. This infection also begins from a hair follicle. The boils might not drain on their own and hence require a physician to examine the condition.

Impetigo- this is one common bacterial infection that his mostly observed in young children. Regarded as a contagious disease, Impetigo shows symptoms of resembling chickenpox. The only difference is that it grows sores filled with pus on our skin.

Cellulitis- this is an infection that infects the pigmentation of our skin. Cellulitis occurs when there is a deposition of cells in the epidermal layer of our skin and is commonly seen in people having exposure to the sun.

Herpes

When we list the most common skin disorder, it is inevitable to mention herpes. It is one of the most severe types of skin infection that needs consistent treatment and cure. Herpes occurs by two types of viruses namely HSV1 and HSV 2.

Normally HSV 1 is the root cause of cold sores while HSV-2 gives rise to genital sores. In people with a weaker immune system, a generalized infection may develop that may make the situation worse. Chickenpox is another common skin disorder that occurs by a type of herpes virus only.

Dermatitis

In common words, dermatitis is simply an infection on your skin. This common skin disorder can also be used to describe some specific skin conditions by a dermatologist. These skin conditions include:

  • Contact dermatitis, which occurs by redness or rashness on our skin when we come in contact with a particular substance
  • Seborrheic dermatitis, in which our skin becomes dry and later forms scaly patches also called as cradle cap in little ones
  • Diaper dermatitis, which occurs when babies develop rashes due to diapers on their bumps
  • Stasis dermatitis occurs when there is a reddish-blue rash occurring on the lower part of our legs. This occurs in people who have varicose veins and swollen ankles.

Eczema

This is a skin condition where patches of our skin appear to become itchy, inflamed, red, rough and cracked. Skin blisters are also common symptoms of this disease. Eczema is also called as one of the types of dermatitis and is basically a collection of diseases that affect our immune system.

The symptoms usually vary with the age of the person. Most often, it occurs in infants, causing the appearance of dry skin and scaly patches. This causes the skin to become itchy and irritating.

People suffering from eczema experience symptoms elevate with time, if not treated. The worsening condition follows with periods of skin dying and reddening with an increase in irritation.
